Easy Fabric Covered Notebook

I have a dear cousin who just started her first year of college, so I decided to make a cute fabric covered notebook to send to her. I'm so proud of her! She is a freshman at UMiami.

The process is very simple. Here is everything you need:

I bought the Marble Composition Book at the Dollar Store.
The Fabric Quarter is from Joann Fabrics and was around $2.00.
I had the spray adhesive on hand.

I started by ironing the fabric nice and flat, then starching it so that it would be easy to handle, although this is not necessary if you use a thicker fabric.

I sprayed the adhesive on the back of the fabric and adhered it to both sides of the notebook. One Fabric Quarter will give you plenty of fabric to cover both sides of the notebook with material left over.

Here is the finished project. I know I could probably frouf it up some, but it is a gift for a college student and she is really not into froufy things.

  1. Just blogging around this morning and found your blog. How cute you made that little note book and how thoughtful it was of you to make it for her. Every blog I read seems to be so different and unique in it's own way, I just love to find different ones to read. Thank you for letting me visit.
