Rat Motel Pumpkin

Here is our creepy "Rat Motel" pumpkin that Olivia and I carved last night. This design is inspired by a pumpkin on Martha Stewart's website.

The concept is simple:

1. Carve out the bottom of the pumpkin and remove the seeds and goop.
2. Carve out circles in various places on the pumpkin to place your rubber rats.
3. Insert a string of Christmas lights inside the pumpkin so that it glows from within.
4. Place your rats in the holes.

I carved more holes than I had rats so that more light would show through. That rats are just sitting in the holes, so let's hope it doesn't get too windy between now and Halloween.
