Burlap Vase Trio

I love using burlap in my crafts and the design world is using this versatile fabric in everything from upholstering, to jewelry embellishments, to home decor. It adds interest and texture, and instantly updates a plain or dated piece.

A lovely burlap wrapped vase as seen at Ballard Design:

Suzanne Kasler Burlap Wrapped Vase, Ballard Design
Very lovely and available for purchase for $49.00 in the Ballard Design catalog.

Here is my $2.00 version and how I got there:

I started with a plain Dollar Store vase:

Then I hot glued a piece of burlap garland around the middle:

Then I added a dried hydrangea I picked up from the Galena Farmer's Market:

Voila!

I like the way my vases turned out and they cost hardly anything to make. The vase was a dollar, I had the burlap and glue on hand, and the hydrangea were 4 for a dollar at the Galena Farmer's Market. My vases are much narrower than the Ballard Design vase of course, but I like how my smaller ones can be grouped together in a display. You likey?
